One of the barriers to maneuver warfare is the thousands of land mines deployed in the battle zones. Pathfinder will search a field using a metal detector and record the location of all mines. It will use differential GPS to generate precise maps. It will spread its weight over enough area so as not to set off mines.

It is estimated that it will take Ukraine decades to clear all the landmines and unexploded ordnance left from the ongoing conflict. While the Ukrainian government aims to clear the country by 2033, experts suggest it could take significantly longer, potentially 10 years or more, even with the use of innovative technologies and increased resources. Pathfinder can speed the process without further risk of life.
